Percutaneous ablation uses thermal or electrical energy to destroy tumour tissue under CT or ultrasound guidance. Radiofrequency ablation (RFA), microwave ablation (MWA), and cryoablation are used depending on tumour size, location, and proximity to critical structures. IRE (NanoKnife) is available for tumours adjacent to bile ducts or vessels.
