TARE/SIRT delivers Y-90 microspheres (SIR-Spheres or TheraSphere) through the hepatic artery to irradiate liver tumours internally. Pre-treatment angiography and Tc-99m MAA scan assess lung shunting and optimise dosimetry. TARE enables high local doses with minimal systemic toxicity.
