About this Outreach Initiative
As part of ARC Cancer Hospital's deep-rooted commitment to preventive oncology and community-level healthcare empowerment, Dr. Poornachandra Tejaswi S. (Chief Consultant Radiation Oncologist) conducted a comprehensive and interactive Breast Cancer Awareness Session at the Humana Foundation Campus in Sathanur.
The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 60 to 70 women from the local community. Dr. Poornachandra led an engaging, compassionate dialogue covering breast cancer epidemiology, demystifying prevalent misconceptions, and highlighting the vital role of regular Breast Self-Examinations (BSE). Attendees were guided on recognizing key warning signs—such as palpable lumps, breast tissue changes, localized dimpling, or abnormal discharge—and the indispensable value of early diagnosis for curative outcomes.
To dismantle economic and logistical barriers that often deter women from undergoing timely preventative screenings, ARC Cancer Hospital distributed complimentary Mammography Screening Coupons to the participants. These vouchers allow direct, free-of-cost access to state-of-the-art digital mammography screenings at ARC Cancer Hospital, ensuring that proactive cancer care is accessible to every woman.
